Mastering the fundamentals...
I am 3 classes into part 2 of my photography course. I am learning so much! It's amazing how much more there is to photography than getting the right ISO, Aperture, and or SS. I am learning how to set and use all the things on my camera that I was afraid to mess with before. I've learned that the histogram isn't just a pretty graph. lol So one of the things that I've always struggled with was shooting in very dark venues that my son plays at. My old way of thinking would be to bump up the ISO but then that was a crap shoot since the camera would see all that black and try to lighten it up, then that would cause a lot of gray grainy, blurry photos. So I've learned how to spot meter and that's been like the key to getting the shots. Here are a few that I took this past weekend. I mean, they're not professional but they are getting up to where I want to be. Every time Masyn would be playing indoors at a venue that I knew would be dark, I would kind of cringe hoping I'd get at least one or two shots that would be good. Anyways, I am getting use to turning in homework that is sooc. There are only 6 people in our class, so anyone and everyone ask a lot of questions. And he shows everyones homework on the screen, which is kind of fun and funny! He tells us to check our egos at the door, since everybody there is there to learn. I just love his classes! Anyways, Fall is here and I hope cooler weather follows! xoxo
